InterAct for Change Names Inaugural Board of Directors

June 14, 2007 – Cincinnati, Ohio – InterAct for Change, a full-service philanthropic enterprise with a focus on active giving and positive change with measurable results, has named its inaugural board of directors. Anne Chambers and Judith Clabes will join the existing Health Foundation Fund board members to lead the newly formed InterAct for Change.

Board members include: James R. Adams; Tom J. Anderle; Karen Bankston; John Farrenkopf; Rose Hook; Thomas J. Klinedinst, Jr.; John J. Kron; William L. Mallory, Jr.; Robert Maltz; H.C. Buck Niehoff; Col Owens; J. James Pearce, Jr.; Carter F. Randolph; Garen Wisner and Marcy R. Wydman.

Both Chambers and Clabes were elected to the board at its recent annual meeting. Each will serve a one-year term. Garen Wisner will serve as chairman of the board.

“The talent of this inaugural board is at once diverse and outstanding,” said Donald Hoffman, president and CEO of InterAct.  “Each brings with them assets vital to the success of this new venture.”

InterAct for Change was formed when BeneFactors LLC joined with the Health Foundation Fund in April 2007. InterAct offers confidential and customized philanthropic services and designs and implements meaningful strategies for individuals, families, foundations, philanthropic funds and giving collaboratives.

Anne Chambers is the founder and CEO of RED, a full-service marketing agency that serves companies such as Microsoft and Proctor and Gamble.  She recently launched a sister company to RED, Bright Future Foods.  Ms. Chambers is also the founder and president of the Bright Future Adoption Foundation. She sits on the boards of the Soyfoods Association of North America and the True Body Project.

Judith Clabes is president and CEO of the Scripps Howard Foundation.  She was previously the editor of The Kentucky Post and served as editorial director of The Scripps Howard Newspapers. Ms. Clabes is the editor of New Guardians of the Press, a book on women newspaper editors. She is the recipient of several service awards including the BRIDGES Distinguished Community Service Award in 2007 and the Gerald Sass Distinguished Service Award from AEJMC.  Ms. Clabes also serves on the advisory board of the University of Kentucky Scripps Howard First Amendment Center and is a member of the Vision 2015 executive committee.  Ms. Clabes earned a bachelor’s degree in English and journalism from the University of Kentucky and an MPA from Indiana State University.

Garen L. Wisner is the Chief Operating Officer with Liquid Crystal Polymers Technology Inc. An accomplished business executive, Mr. Wisner has charted the strategic path of start-ups and Fortune 100 firms alike.  He previously was a partner at Accenture, a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company.  He holds an AB in Economics, BA in Mathematics and an MS in Statistics all from Miami University.

Officers of InterAct are: John Farrenkopf, immediate past chair; Don Hoffman, president and CEO; Daniel Geeding, vice president and CFO; Patricia O’Connor, vice president, program; Susan Ingmire, vice president, strategic giving; Shelly Stolarczyk-George, secretary; and Patricia Ruwe, assistant secretary and assistant treasurer.

InterAct for Change inspires, leads, and supports active giving and innovative philanthropic solutions. The Health Foundation Fund, a public charity, was founded by The Health Foundation of Greater Cincinnati in 2002. In 2007, BeneFactors, LLC joined with the Health Foundation Fund to become InterAct for Change. InterAct for Change is hosting several introductory events in May and June.
