Restricted Funds

Project H.O.P.E. | Scholarships

Restricted Funds, also known as area of interest funds, allow clients and partners of InterAct for Change, and any donor, to provide time-limited or perpetual support for specific issues or causes, during their lifetime and, if they wish, beyond their lifetime.  Restricted Funds offer steady income to an organization or area of interest the client chooses.  Restricted Funds are available to individuals, families, Giving Collaboratives, corporations, and nonprofit organizations.

Fees are charged to Restricted Funds, according to the level of strategic advisory and administrative services requested by the investors.  A separate investment fee is charged, which varies depending on the investment strategy determined by clients and partners, in consultation with InterAct.  In some cases, clients and partners may opt to turn over investment decisions to InterAct.

Investment Options

When a Restricted Fund is established, the donor or an advisory group, if one exists, may recommend how the fund is invested. Assets are not pooled with others, but instead, are held in separate accounts. Activity and investment performance are reported quarterly. InterAct for Change monitors investment performance to be sure it meets appropriate benchmarks. From time to time, InterAct for Change may suggest a change in investment strategy, based on the performance of the fund or similar issues.

Current investment options include:

  • Money-market funds (suggested for partners who plan to recommend frequent grants).
  • A diverse variety of high-quality mutual funds.

If the Philanthropic Fund exceeds $500,000, the partner or advisory group has the option of recommending a preferred investment partner (i.e., a wealth manager, consultant, or investment advisor) to individually manage the investment portfolio, using the investment guidelines established by InterAct for Change.

Please contact us at info@interactforchange.org for more information on Philanthropic Funds or if you are interested in becoming a preferred investment partner.
